Roger F Steele

Thornton, Roger Fay Steele, 93, of 24 Steele Bridge Road, Thornton, died Monday, June 2, 2015, at Golden Crest in Franklin.
Roger was born in Thornton, on December 17, 1921 in his family home, where he lived out most of his life. The son of the late Frank W and Eda M (Sawyer) Steele.
Roger served in the US Army during WWII as a medic. He worked in the Plymouth Paper Mill for many years. He has been a lifelong farmer.
Many people knew Roger as the man with the fresh vegetables for sale. He would travel from Plymouth to Lincoln and sell his vegetables out of the trunk of his 67 Chevrolet. He would pick in the morning and deliver in the afternoon, (the fresher the better).
Roger was still farming and logging the family farm well into his 80’s.
He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Laconia, NH.
Family members included his four children, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Roger was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Carr) Steele, a sister, Eva Gray and two brothers; Lawrence Steele and Everett Steele, all of Thornton and a grandson, John Mozeika of Manchester.
There will be no calling hours.
A private service will be held for the family members.
