Rumney, NH Richard “Dick” A. Siek of Quincy Bog Road died Monday (January 24, 2011) at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth. He was 84. Born on Jan 10, 1927 in Hartford, CT, he was the son of Hilmer G. and Dorothy (Merkel) Siek. Mr Siek grew up in West Hartford, CT and was a graduate of West Hartford Schools. From 1945-46, he served in the US Navy as an Electronic Technician’s Mate. He was a 1949 graduate of Cornell University School of Engineering. His career as an electrical engineer spanned over many firms including Boston Edison, Sylvania and several other small electronic firms. He retired from Sprague Electric in Plymouth. He was a pioneer in semi-conductors for the electronics industry. His favorite pastimes include spending summers with family and friends at the Squam Lake family cottage. He also enjoyed playing cards, traveling in their RV around the continental US, and special trips to Israel and an Alaskan cruise. He was a member of the Rumney Baptist Church. His first wife Mrs Jean M. (Anderson) Siek and a brother H. Gerard Siek, MD pre-deceased him. He leaves his wife Doris “Dottie” Siek of Rumney, Sons: Richard B. Siek and his wife Elisabeth of Epsom, NH And Jonathan P. Siek and his wife Melanie of Holderness, NH Daughters: Beverly Dunning and her husband David of New London, NH And Charlotte Gelston and her husband Todd of E. Haddam, CT Deborah Holt and her husband David of Bow, NH Stepchildren: Deborah Byers and her husband Dennis of Rumney, NH Norma O’Brien and her husband Michael of Loudon, NH and John Kennedy and his wife Tammy of Plymouth, NH A brother George Siek and his wife Bonnie of Highlands, NC. 28 grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Saturday, Feb 12, at Rumney Baptist Church, Rumney, NH. Rev. Daniel Bowers will officiate. Burial will be in the spring at Trinity Cemetery in Holderness. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St, North Woodstock, NH.
