Karen V Shortell

Karen V. Shortell of US Rte 3 died Sunday evening (May 15, 2016) at her home.  She was 69.

Born on Jan 27, 1947 in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of Richard E. and Justine V. (Inglis) Cormier.  Karen grew up in Lynn, MA and was a graduate of Peabody High School and Essex Aggie College with a degree in Nursing.

On December 31, 1983, she married James M. Shortell. They then moved to Lincoln, NH in November of 1984.

Karen was affectionately known as a “hippee”. Sixty’s music was her favorite, she attended the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival and enjoyed partying with family and friends.

She leaves her husband James M. Shortell, I, a daughter Leslie Shortell-Anderson and her husband James Anderson, and two grandchildren Thomas James Lindner and Ariana Kaylie Anderson.

A  Service and calling hours will be held from 1:000pm to 3:00pm  at Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St, No. Woodstock, NH followed by a Celebration of Karen’s life from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Saturday, May 28 at American Legion Post # 83 in Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that you wear a Tie Die shirt and dress casual.
