Beulah C Lyon

Beulah C. Lyon, a lifelong resident of Rumney died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH following a brief illness. She was 92.
Born on June 26, 1922 in Rumney, NH, she was the daughter of Asa P. and Velva V. (Hanks) Colby.
Beulah was a graduate of Plymouth High School and attended Providence Bible Institute.
On April 5, 1942, she married John S. Lyon.
She was employed for 25 years as a cook at the Russell Elementary School in Rumney, worked at Hillside Inn as pastry cook, and Ames Department Store for 23 years.
Beulah was a member of Rumney Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, making quilts and wedding cakes.
Besides her husband, she is predeceased by a son Harold Lyon and 2 brothers & a sister.
She leaves her children Merle Lyon and wife Ginny of Bristol, Janice Thompson and husband Virgil of Tulsa, OK, Dwight Lyon of Rumney, and Stuart Lyon and wife Marie of Rumney. 7 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, a brother Ira Colby of Springfield, VT, and three sisters Faith Kounkoulas of Littleton, NH, Alberta Clark of La Plata, MD, and Lillian Chaffee and husband Paul of Putney, VT. Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday, August 23 at Rumney Baptist Church in Rumney, NH. Burial will follow at Immanuel Cemetery in Rumney.
Calling hours will be held from 7-9pm Friday, August 22 at the Rumney Baptist Church.
