Mary Annie LaRue
October 8, 1928 – July 8, 2017
Mary Annie (Mc Keown) LaRue, a longtime resident of Bog Brook Road, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at LaFayette Center in Franconia, NH where she had resided for the past six years. She was 88 years old.
Born on October 8, 1928 in Quebec City, P.Q., Canada, she was the daughter of Patrick J. and Emelie (Chavari) Mc Keown. Mary grew up in Quebec City and settled in Lincoln with her husband Alvin and raised her family.
Mary was an integral part of Hilliard's Candyland in North Woodstock where she worked as a candy maker for nearly twenty years, making untold pounds of their famous fudge. She stayed on after the store changed hands until her full-time retirement in 1995.
Mary loved her family and took great delight in becoming a grandmother, a role she cherished. She enjoyed travelling and meeting new people. She made many lifelong friends including her dear friend of over 40 years Joan Gould.
Besides her parents, she is pre-deceased by her husband Alvin D. LaRue, brother Tom McKeown, and sisters, Claire Caron and Jackie Storer of Lincoln and Margaret Roy of Quebec.
She leaves behind her son Jerry LaRue and his wife Debbie of North Woodstock, daughter Linda Collari and husband Dennis of Duxbury, MA; beloved granddaughter Carly Collari of San Diego, CA; her brother Norman McKeown and wife Anita of Laconia, NH; her sister Jeanne Simard of Franconia, NH as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11am, Friday, August 11, at Riverside Cemetery in Lincoln, NH.
In lieu of flowers a remembrance donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Association @ alz.org. Arrangements are by Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, No. Woodstock, NH.
