Glencliff, NH- Phyllis A. (Avery) Joyce, 62, of Glencliff and a former resident of Meredith and Ashland, NH died Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Glencliff Home for the Retired. She was born in Laconia, NH on March 22, 1949 the daughter of Perley and Leona (Chase) Avery. She attended Lang Street Elementary School and Interlake’s High School in Meredith. Phyllis was from Meredith in her younger years and moved around a little before settling down in Ashland after she married Donald, in 1989. She worked at IPC in Bristol and Ashland Woolen Mill in Ashland and other mills. She also worked at the former Laconia State School. She was always a hard worker and enjoyed outdoors and listening to Elvis Presley. She had two cats who were her children. Later after her husband Don pass away, she became ill and went into Glen Cliff Home in Glen Cliff, NH She is survived by two sisters: Minnie Sorell and her husband, Alex (Sonny) of Center Sandwich, NH and Hazel Eckhart of Laconia, NH; a sister-in-law, Virginia (Ginny)Avery of Meredith, NH and a brother-in-law, Edward A. Gee of Hillsborough, NH. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband of nine years, Donald Joyce of Ashland, her parents: Perley V. Avery and Leona P. (Chase) Avery. Three sisters: Evelyn Quinn of Newark, NJ, Madeline L. Gee of Hillsborough, NH and Leona P. (Dickerson) Vincent of Chocorua. Two brothers: Rene’ Avery of Rumney and Perley V. Avery, Jr. of Meredith, NH. A Memorial service will be held on April 7, 2011 at 10 am at Glencliff Home, 393 High St, Glencliff, NH 03238. There are no calling hours, a graveside service will be held on June 4th, 2011 at 11:00 am Meredith Village Cemetery, Meredith, NH with Pastor Jack Ward of East Washington Baptist Church, East Washington, NH, presiding.
