Alice E. Hiltz

Alice Eileen Hiltz, 89, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2011 at Littleton Regional Hospital.

She was born in Newville, Nova Scotia July 31, 1921, to Herbert and Frances (Dodge) Fulton. The youngest of 14 children, Alice moved to North Woodstock with her family when she was four.

She attended and graduated from North Woodstock schools in 1939. That same year she married her husband of nearly 70 years, Bud Hiltz.

During WWll when Bud was overseas, Alice worked in the lab at the Marcel Paper Company and later at Sprague Electric. She was also an integral part of Bud’s construction and car businesses.

Alice was a Christian, and lived as one. She and Bud gave generously in time, talent and Christian Love in the building and development of Pemi-Valley Church, from the Cornerstone to the pulpit. Alice had the gift of a beautiful voice and was a well-loved member of the choir for many years.

Her family will sorely miss her nurturing, gentle touch, singing, love of family and ever-present humor.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and siblings as well as daughters, infant Susan Eileen Hiltz and Judith Ann Benton, and husband Robert Malcolm Hiltz Sr.

She is survived by daughters, Bobbie Lowden of Juneau, Alaska, Kathy (Laurent) Landry of Colchester, Connecticut, and son Robert Hiltz Jr and his life partner, Sally Moulton of North Woodstock. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10am Thursday, May 19 at Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St, North Woodstock. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Lincoln, NH.

Visiting hours will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday, May 18 at the funeral Home.
