Frederick "Fred" A. Hanson

Frederick A. “Fred” Hanson of Valley View Lane passed away Thursday Afternoon, December 8, 2011 at his home following a period of declining health. He was 84. Born on August 30, 1927 in Newport, Rhode Island, he was the son of Fred and Anne (Olsen) Hanson. Fred was a graduate of Newport High School and was a longtime resident of Newport, Rhode Island. From 1968-1986, he owned and operated Auquidneck Auto Supply, Inc., in Newport, Rhode Island. He was known for his large gardens and will be remembered for his humor and he would always brighten the day of those around him. Retiring to Lincoln, NH in 1986, he was employed as a bus driver at Loon Mountain and was a conductor on the Hobo Railroad in Lincoln. He enjoyed his leisure rides in his 1931 Packard Car. He leaves his loving wife of 48 years Thelma D. (Flagg) Hanson of Lincoln, NH His son Allen Hanson and his wife Joyce of Lincoln, NH Two grand-daughters: Amy Fortier and her husband Justin of Fall River, Mass and Samantha Hanson of Lincoln, NH A great-grandson Kevin Robert Fortier A Funeral Service was held on Saturday December 10, 2011 at The Church of the Messiah in North Woodstock, NH. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Lincoln, NH. Arrangements are by Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St., North Woodstock, NH.
