David E Georgia

David E. Georgia of Oakes Street passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at LaFayette Center in Franconia, NH following a period of declining health. He was 85.

Born on June 19, 1928 in Coudesport, PA, he was the son of Charles O. and Anna May(Campbell) Georgia.

David was a 1946 graduate of Woodstock High School.

He was employed at the Franconia Paper Company in Lincon, NH until its closure and then was employed at Burndy Corporation until retiring in 1993. For several years, he was the custodian at the Woodstock Fire Department.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a past Grand Knight.

His pastimes included woodworking, carpentry, yard sales, antiques, and especially the family trips to the Ocean at Old Orchard Beach and Wells, Maine. He really loved to dance.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by an infant son Christopher , a granddaughter Jennifer Lyn Georgia, two brothers, and a sister.

He leaves his loving wife of 65 years Marilyn E. Georgia and a son Robert A. Georgia and wife Suzanne all of No. Woodstock, a grandson Jamie Georgia and his wie Chloe and their children Zara Lyn and Daphne Malala all of Milton, MA, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday, March 6 at Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St, No. Woodstock, NH.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Woodstock Cemetery.
