Robert "Bob" Forbush
March 18, 1939 – November 4, 2012
Plymouth, NH Robert “Bob” Forbush of Lower Beech Hill Road passed away early Sunday Morning (November 4, 2012) at his home following periods of declining health. He was 73.
Born on March 18, 1939 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of George D. Caie and Tena O. (Tucker) Caie. Step-father Willie Forbush
Bob grew up and attended local schools in the Milan, Whitefield and Lancaster areas. On October 18, 1957, he married Shirley L. Hopps of Groveton.
From 1962-1974, he worked on the Marshall Farm Dairy in Northumberland. Moving to Lincoln in 1974, he bought a milk route from Dick Jones of North Woodstock. He operated the route as Connecticut Valley Dairy Products and delivered to area wholesale and retail accounts in Lincoln/North Woodstock area. From 1976-1984 he and his family owned and operated the Kanc Kountry Store in Lincoln, NH. During this time, they built the store up, installed gasoline pumps and a deli. In 1984, he bought a truck and started Forbush Trucking. He also was a contractor for the State of New Hampshire mowing roadsides.
He was a longtime member of the Masonic Parker Lodge # 97-F&AM in North Woodstock, Scottish Rite Valley of Nashua, and a 32 year member of Bektash Shriners AAONMS of Concord. He was a former member of the Winnipesauke Shrine Club and the Scottish Rite Valley of Lancaster. He was a longtime member of the Lincoln-Woodstock Rotary Club and the Lin-Wood Chamber of Commerce.
Bob enjoyed woodworking, making wood crafts, listening to Country/Gospel music, John Wayne, Elvis and going for walks.
Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by a brother Daniel Forbush and a sister Nancy Lavertue.
He leaves his loving wife of 55 years Shirley L. Forbush of Campton, NH, Two sons: Mark Forbush and his wife Jane of Burlington, Mass and Aaron Forbush and his wife Diane of Palm Harbor, Fl A daughter Robin Richardson of Yarmouth, ME Grandchildren: Kelly, Eric, Joseph, Billy, Margaret, Elizabeth, Derek, Ciara, Nicholas, Taylor, and Kylee Rose. Great-grandchildren: Eliana, Asher, and Adalie Mother-in-law Beatrice Hopps of Whitefield A Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 am Wednesday, November 7, at Plymouth United Methodist Church, 334 Fairground Road, Plymouth, NH. Grand-daughter Kelly Forbush a recent graduate of Yale Divinity School will officiate along with Pastor Carol Cray. A graveside service Burial will follow at 12:30pm at West Milan Cemetery.
