Joseph T. Flagg

Lincoln, NH- Joseph T. Flagg of Rue de Gionet died Friday, November 21, 2014 at his home following a period of declining health. He was 91. Born on May 15, 1923 in Gloucester, Mass, he was the son of Joseph T. and Anita D. (Denum) Flagg. Joseph grew up in Gloucester, Mass and served in the US Navy during World War II. He was He worked in the Naval base in Portsmouth, RI and retired from there and went to work in the Fall River, Mass area as an insurance salesman. He and Alice resided in Newport, RI where Joe built their home. Upon retiring from the insurance field, he and Alice moved to Lincoln, NH., where he was the owner of the ‘910 Engine’ and was involved in the operation of the Hobo Railroad. He also purchased and restored many antique automobiles including two Franklins and a Hupmobile. He was a member of the Model “A” restorers club of the Upper Connecticut Valley Region of NH and VT and beyond and the HUP Club. Besides his parents and wife of 52 years Alice who died March 30, 2009, he is pre-deceased by two sisters Margery Thomas Flagg and Ruth Henault. He leaves a sister Thelma Hanson of Lincoln, NH and 5 nephews, 3 nieces, and 2 grand nieces; four great nieces and one great nephew. at Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, No. Woodstock, NH. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, May 13 at Riverside Cemetery in Lincoln, NH. Arrangements are by Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, No. Woodstock, NH.
