Gilles Armont Dumont

Lincoln, NH Gilles Armand Dumont, 87, passed away Thursday evening April 23, 2015 at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH following a period of declining health. Born on Aug 8, 1927 in St. Marguerite, Dorchester, Canada, he was the son of Ovide and Maria (Deblois) Dumont. In earlier years, he cooked for Arthur Asseline’s restaurant for 5 years. He was then employed for 21 years at Franconia Paper Company as a backtender to Machine #3 and retired from Burndy Corporation in Lincoln in 1993 where he worked for 16 years as a setup man for the rollmaker. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Lincoln. Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by three brothers: Roland Dumont and wife Marguerite Rioux of Canada, Bernard Dumont and Benoit Dumont and wife Rita Carrier all of Lincoln, NH as well as sister in law Marcelle Dumont and brother in laws Lucien Carrier and Mercel Mercier. He leaves his loving wife of 54 years Ghislaine (Veillex) Dumont of Lincoln; three brothers: George Dumont and wife Theresa of Lincoln, NH, Arthur Dumont of Mass, and Jean-Paul Dumont and wife Rejeane of Canada; four sisters: Florence Dumont, Suzanne Dumont and husband Jean-Paul Royer, and Mariette Dumont all of Canada and Hughette Dumont and husband Mark of Lincoln, NH as well as Sister in law Alene Dumont, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Friday, May 8 at St. Joseph Church in Lincoln. Rev. David Kneeland will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Lincoln.
