George Ovide Dumont

George Ovide Dumont, a longtime resident of School Street died Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH following a period of declining health.  He was 90.

Born on December 10, 1925 in St. Marguerite, P.Q., Canada, he was the son of Ovide and Maria (Dublois) Dumont.

George grew up in Canada and on Aug 15, 1959 he married Therese Marie Dumont and they migrated to the United States, settling in Lincoln, NH.

He was employed at the Franconia Paper Company and retired from Burndy Corporation in Lincoln.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Lincoln.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by his wife of 58 years Therese Dumont, four brothers: Roland Dumont of Canada, Bernard Dumont, Gilles Dumont, and Benoit Dumont all of Lincoln.

He leaves a son Michel Dumont and wife Debbie of Stratham, NH, three daughters Diane Sweeney and husband Richard of Weare, Louise Hooker and husband Thomas of Tacoma, WA, and Nancy Dumont of Shoreline, WA; 8 grandchildren: Matthew Dumont and wife Lauren, Kyle and Bryan Dumont; Emily D’Agostino and husband Nick, Tyler and Nathan Sweeney; Craig and David Hooker; two brothers Arthur Dumont of Massachusetts, Jean-Paul Dumont and wife Rejeane of Canada; four sisters Florence Dumont, Suzanne Dumont and husband Jean-Paul Royer,  and Mariette Dumont, all of Canada, and Huguette Dumont and husband Mark of Lincoln, as well  as sister-in-law Alene Dumont, and Ghislaine Dumont and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10am Saturday, August 27 at St. Joseph Church in Lincoln, NH.

Calling hours will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, August 26 at Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, No. Woodstock, NH.

(Optional) In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mary and John Elliot Foundation for the Geropsyche Unit.
