Dorothy V. Cushing of Lincoln Green passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Hanover Terrace in Hanover, NH following a period of declining health. She was 92.

Born on May 27, 1922 in Rockland, MA, she was the daughter of John L. and Edyth (Roberts) Burrill.

Dorothy grew up and was educated in Rockland, MA, graduating in 1941.

In 1943, she enlisted in the US Navy and served at the US Navy Barracks in Washington, DC during World War II. She was discharged in 1945 as a yeoman third class.

On May 11, 1945, she married William O. Cushing, Jr.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed as a receptionist at Carrigan Insurance in Tilton, NH.

Besides her parents, she is pre-deceased by her husband William O. Cushing, Jr., a son Alan W. Cushing, a grandson Will Cushing, brothers Robert & Fred Burrill.

She leaves a son William O. Cushing, III and wife (Brooke) of Cheyenne, WY, two daughters Gail Cushing of Lincoln, NH and Joanne Miller of West Franklin, NH; granddaughters Kara Lancaster of Topeka, KS, Brandy Miller of Hampton, NH, Marisa Cushing of Lincoln, NE, Kelly Cushing of Middletown, NY, Jessica Coulter of Northfield, NH, Bethany Bacon of Maine, and Alan Cushing of Loudon, NH; eleven great-grandchildren: Brittany, Rebecca, and Emilee Lancaster, Alan, Ayden, and Wyatt Cushing, Landen Cushing, Lillian and Blain Coulter, Alissa and Brycen Bacon; a sister Charlotte Reynolds of Virginia Beach, VA; several nieces and nephews and two very dear friends Kathy Cook and Brenda Landry.

Graveside funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 11 am in the family lot in the Woodstock Cemetery in Woodstock, NH.
