Roland P. Bourassa

Roland P. Bourassa, a longtime resident of Bourassa Road, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at Grafton County Nursing Home in Haverhill, NH. He was 86.

Born on February 1, 1927 in East Haverhill, NH, he was the son of Aime and Delvina (Belanger) Bourassa.

Roland was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Lincoln, NH.

He served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

On June 11, 1949, he married Nancy R. Currier.

In earlier years, he was employed at Franconia Paper Company and Loon Mountain where he served as the first mountain manager. For more than 20 years, he operated Roland’s Hillside Greenhouse in No Woodstock, NH.

He was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Church in Lincoln.

His pastimes included outdoor gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, skiing, and hiking.

He was a member of the Lincoln American Legion Post #83 where he served as past commander.

Roland was pre-deceased by his wife of 43 years Nancy Bourassa (1992) and then his longtime companion June Lynch (2012).

He leaves two sons Danny Bourassa and his wife Cheryl and Joel Bourassa and his wife Alice Pearce all of No. Woodstock.A daughter Cynthia Piper of Ashland. Grandchildren: Jill McDougall, Erin Towle, Beth Corbett, Tedd Bourassa, Kimberly Piper, Karen Prince, Matthew Piper; Corbin, Pearce, and Carter Bourassa. a brother Clarence “Clem” Bourassa of Laytonville, CA; and a sister Irene Vintinner of Tennessee

13 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Wednesday, September 18 at St. Joseph Church in Lincoln, NH. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln.

Calling hours will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, Sept 17 at Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St, No Woodstock, NH.
