Roseanne LaPointe Black

March 18, 1944 –  June 20, 2011

RoseAnne (LaPointe) Black of Lincoln, NH, formerly of Whitefield, NH, passed over at early dawn on Monday June 20, 2011, with her daughters at her side. The daughter of Charles A. and Rose (Henault) LaPointe, she was born on March 18, 1944.

In her early years, RoseAnne was a consummate basketball player for Lincoln High School from which she graduated. She also had a deep passion for the outdoors, enjoying hiking, swimming, bicycling, berry picking, and snowshoeing. She had a great interest in music of all venues and loved to dance. She was a member of the Lin-Wood Adult Volleyball League with her husband and trivial pursuit partner, Rodney. After moving to Whitefield from Lincoln, she released a long dormant interest in quilting and joined the Social Quilt Club at Stitch Quilt Shop. Her other pastimes included quiet forest walks with her dogs, playing cards and cribbage with friends and family and devouring books of all genres. Her greatest joy, however, came from riding her motorcycle in all seasons.

Throughout her life, RoseAnne was a hard and dedicated worker with a tremendous variety of skills. She always gave her all to every position she held, from caring for special need children to insulating to broke hustler to landscaping to name a few. In her personal life, she had a generous and compassionate heart that always knew when a friend was in need. Her desire to help others extended into the animal world and her home was a refuge for a large number of precious pets. Regardless of the curveballs Life threw in her path, her indomitable strength, fiercely independent spirit, tremendous sense of humor and constant smile led the way for us all.

RoseAnne was predeceased by both her parents, her cherished husband Rodney A. Black and her youngest daughter Katherine A. Romprey. She is survived by daughters Carolyn Hunt and husband Rick of Littleton, NH, Malinda Black of North Woodstock, NH, Danielle Black and beloved granddaughter Kate of Woodstock, NH, her sister Therese Sellingham of Woodstock, NH, her nephew Michael S. Sellingham and his wife Katie of Concord, NH, several cousins in Maine and Quebec and many treasured friends.

A celebration of RoseAnne’s life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Parker Masonic Lodge on Lost River Road (Route 112) in North Woodstock, NH. RoseAnne left a desire that everyone wear something red. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Lincoln Green Senior Apartments at 24 Lincoln Green Road, Lincoln, NH 03251.
