Wilfred T. Bishop, 87, of School Street died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Manchester, NH.
Born on November 24, 1924, he was the son of Timothy and Maude (LaBrecque) Bishop.
He was a member of the Conservation Corps in the 1930’s. During WW II, and the during the Korean War he served in the US Navy.
He received his Bachelors of Science and Massachusetts Teachers Certification in 1973 from Fitchburg State College.
He resided in Lowell, Mass for many years and retired from the Lowell Technological Institute where he was employed as a Cafeteria supervisor.
Retiring back to his hometown of Lincoln, NH, he was an avid fisherman, Outdoorsman, and Water Resource Activist.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Lincoln and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
His wife Alice T. (Martin) Bishop died in November of 2000.
He leaves two sons: Timothy Bishop of Lowell, Mass and Lawrence Bishop of Lincoln, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday, December 1, at St. Joseph Church in Lincoln, NH. Rev. David Kneeland will officiate. Burial will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln.
Calling hours will be held from 7-9pm Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St., North Woodstock, NH.
