Wilfred “Willie” Joseph Caron, Jr., 92,of Maltais Farm Road, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at LaFayette Center in Franconia following a period of declining health.
Born on March 10, 1926 in Fitchburg, MA, he was the son of Robert & Mary Caron.
Willie grew up in North Woodstock, NH and served in the US Army during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was the recipient Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was employed as a papermaker at the Franconia Paper Company and then moved to Garfield, NJ where he was employed at Garden State Paper Company.
He was an avid fisherman.
He is pre-deceased by his first wife Johanna Schur, his second wife Claire Caron and several brothers.
He leaves three sons: Wilfred Caron, Jr of Phoenix, AZ, Bruce Caron and wife LouAnn of Deering, NH and John Caron and wife Melissa of Pennsylvania; a brother Richard Caron; sister Blanche, Rosemary “Susie”, and Yvonne; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday, August 16At Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, No. Woodstock, NH.
Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery in Lincoln, NH.
