David B. Robinson, Sr., 78, of Maltais Farm Road, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at his beloved camp in Dummer, NH, where he was his happiest.
Born on March 29, 1941, he was the son of Charles H. and Elsie D. (Westover) Robinson, Sr.
Dave grew up in the Swiftwater/Haverhill area.
He was the owner and operator of David B. Robinson, Sr., Heating and Installation. A self taught man with an entrepreneurial spirit, he began his career with Saulnier Oil Co, Carco, and Dead River prior to starting his own company in 1987, covering the area from Campton to Lincoln-Woodstock. He also owned and operated with his wife Susan, Grampa’s Deli in Lincoln NH.
His past times included hunting, fishing, bingo, word searches, and playing card games with his family. His favorite past time was cooking and creating interesting dishes that he tried out on his family. He is best known for “Uncle David’s More Dish”. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and coached little league in earlier years. He also was a hunter’s safety instructor.
He will be remembered as an “amazing Dad”, a “loving PaPa and “everyone’s favorite uncle” as well as for his humor-telling jokes and stories.
Foremost, he enjoyed everything related to his grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by a sister Annette Hokes and brothers: Charles H. Robinson, II, Earl Robinson, Johnny Robinson and Timothy Robinson.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Susan G. (Burack) Robinson; sons: David Robinson, Jr. (Shannon) of Thornton and Kevin O’Brien of Lincoln; daughters: Floraine Place (Jon) of Easton, Tammy Robbins (Allan) of North Haverhill, and Kelly Burrows (Ryan McQuade) of Lincoln; grandchildren: Garrett & Jordan Place, Cole & Connor Robbins, Tylar& Tanner Burrows, and Jack McQuade; brothers: Robert Robinson of Vernon, CT, Dean Robinson of Lincoln, and Clyde Tewksbury of Franconia; sisters: Mary Chase of Landaff and Ida Osgood of Lincoln; several nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 pm Sunday, June 30 at the Woodstock Station in North Woodstock, NH.
