Soren H Pellbring

April 26, 1933 ~ March 17, 2018 (age 84)

Glen, NH

Soren H. Pellbring, 84, of Christmas Mountain Road, Glen passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine with his wife Yarrow and devoted Dog, Joey by his side.

Born on April 26, 1933 in Linkoping, Sweden, he was the son of Helge and Ingeborg (Aberg) Pellbring.

Soren was raised and educated in Sweden. At age 17, he joined the Merchant Marines and then he served in the Swedish Army as a Ranger, assigned to the King’s Detail.

In 1953, he immigrated to the United States and settled in Minot, North Dakota where he accepted employment in Retail Design. He then moved to Long Branch, NJ where he married Eileen Pellbring.

Soren was an innovator of Retail Display and Jewelry Store Design, specializing in New York and New Jersey stores. Retiring in 1990 to Waterville Valley, NH, he enjoyed cross-country skiing and outdoor activities including croquet with friends.

He enjoyed the company of his Golden Retrievers and he volunteered with Golden Retriever Rescue of North Florida while he resided there from 2008 to 2013.

Diagnosed with Lung Disease in 2007, he fought courageously with true Viking Courage to the very end.

Soren was a communicant of Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in North Conway, having converted from the Lutheran Faith during his tenure in North Dakota.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by second wife Eileen Pellbring, and several brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife Yarrow Pellbring of Glen, NH; a daughter Cathleen Pellbring Coviello of Port St. Lucie, Florida; five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, a nephew Christian Pellbring of Hypoluxo, Florida; and his former spouse Patricia Pellbring of New Jersey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 21 at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, 2905 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, NH. Rev. Steve LePine will officiate.
