Conrad Jean Desjardins, 90, formally a resident of Salem MA, Conway, NH and North Woodstock NH passed away peacefully Monday December 19th at Grafton Country Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH after celebrating a life filled with happiness with his wife and best friend of sixty-five years, Marguerite “Peg” L’heureux Desjardins.

Born on the 9th of September 1926, Conrad graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Salem MA and was President and Valedictorian of the Class of 1944.   After graduation he became Seaman 1st class in the United States Navy and served our nation proudly thru June of 1946.  After leaving the Navy he began work for General Electric in Lynn MA working the turbine and jet engine divisions for the following 40 years, retiring in 1986. 

Each spring Dad, his brothers Rene and Clem went on their annual fishing expedition to New Brunswick Canada.  Together Peg and Conrad pursued their love of the outdoors, skiing, gardening, hiking and golfing.  They enjoyed numerous trips golfing with friends and spent many days and nights at sporting events of their grandchildren. 

During his years in Conway and North Woodstock, Conrad was an active communicant of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish and St. Joseph’s Parish.

Conrad is survived by his wife, Marguerite “Peg” L’heureux Desjardins, of Grafton Country Nursing Home, son Philip of Fremont, NH, sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Joanne of Myrtle Beach, SC, George and Marybeth of Peabody, MA and Andre and Faith of North Woodstock, NH; eight grandchildren Emily Desjardins and her wife Vickie Shalian of Watertown, MA, George Jr. of  Framingham, MA,  Conni Castagna Young and husband Brian of Columbia, SC, Danielle of Charleston, SC, Gabrielle of Myrtle Beach SC, Nicole Desjardins Coates and husband Michael of Greenbelt, MD, William and wife Christina of Burlington, MA and Joseph of Wakefield, MA.  He was also blessed with six great grandchildren, Joella, Harper, Hoyt, Logan, Adenine and Brooks; brothers Clem and Auguste and his wife Dorothy and his sister-in-law Lily. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am Wednesday, December 28 at St. Joseph’s Church in Lincoln, NH. Rev. David Kneeland will officiate. Burial will be at New  Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.

There are no calling hours.
